Deutz Brut Rosé is the blended rosé of Maison Deutz in Aÿ: a fruity, lively champagne, predominantly Pinot Noir, that works as well with an aperitif as with a meal.

Deutz Brut Rosé comes 100% from Grands and Premiers Crus. It is made by blending, predominantly Pinot Noir complemented by Chardonnay, and Meunier may be included in some years. Its colour comes from a Pinot Noir red wine from the house's own vineyard in Aÿ, made with care: rigorous sorting, cold maceration, gentle extraction and controlled fermentation. The cuvée then ages for three years in the cellar. The result is a fresh and generous rosé of great finesse that keeps the straightness typical of the house style.

Key facts

  • Origin: France, Champagne, Grands and Premiers Crus
  • Producer: Champagne Deutz
  • Grapes: mostly Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Meunier in some years
  • Dosage: Brut, around 9 g/L according to the technical sheet
  • Ageing: 3 years in the cellar, red wine from the house's vineyard in Aÿ
  • Size: 75 cl

Tasting notes

  • Colour: Pale, bright pink
  • Nose: Crunchy red fruit, blackcurrant, strawberry, blueberry, yellow apple, rhubarb and violet
  • Palate: Tangy, driven by redcurrant, finish of black pepper

Serving and storage

Serve it at around 8 °C in a white wine glass rather than a narrow flute, so its red fruit aromas can show. It is best enjoyed in the years following purchase. Store the bottle lying down, in a cool place away from light.

Food pairing

The house suggests it with salmon and mushrooms, beef carpaccio, duck with cranberries, rack of lamb or fresh cheeses such as chaource or brillat-savarin. It works as an aperitif as well as throughout the meal.

Frequently asked questions

How is this rosé made?

By blending: a Pinot Noir red wine from the house's vines in Aÿ is added to the white wine before the second fermentation. This method allows precise control of colour and fruit.

Who is Maison Deutz?

Founded in Aÿ in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, Maison Deutz has never left its home town. Since 1993 it has belonged to the family-owned Louis Roederer group, and its cuvées are crafted by cellar master Caroline Latrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose between wine, champagne, spirits, liqueur or chartreuse?

It all depends on the occasion (and what you feel like!).

  • Wine: to go with a good meal.
  • Champagne: for aperitifs and celebrations.
  • Spirits: to sip slowly, for lovers of character.
  • Liqueurs and Chartreuse: as a digestif, neat or on ice.

Are your products exclusively of French origin?

No, our cellar is open to the world! Although we favour French gems, we also select treasures from elsewhere.

What is the difference between a liqueur and a chartreuse?

Chartreuse is a herbal liqueur made by Carthusian monks according to a secret recipe. It is a liqueur , but not all liqueurs are Chartreuse.

Which products do you select?

We select great houses and renowned estates: iconic cuvées, vintages and limited editions.

At what temperature should you serve your alcoholic beverages?

Red wines: 15 to 17 °C

Champagnes: 8 to 10 °C, and 10 to 12 °C for great vintages

Spirits: room temperature

Liqueurs and Chartreuse: chilled or on ice
