Frequently asked questions about whisky
What is the difference between a single malt and a blend?
A single malt is made only from malted barley, at a single distillery. A blend combines whiskies from several distilleries, often malt and grain whiskies, to achieve a balanced style, like Hibiki in Japan.
How can I tell if a whisky is peated?
Peat, used to dry the barley, gives smoky notes. Islay whiskies such as Ardbeg and Lagavulin are clearly peated, Highland Park lightly so, while The Macallan and The Dalmore are unpeated and focus on dried fruit and oak.
Do you deliver whisky outside France?
Yes, we ship our whiskies from France to Europe and many countries, with tracking. Delivery is free in mainland France for orders from €300.
