Collection: Chartreuse

Chartreuse, the liqueur of the Carthusian Fathers

Chartreuse has been made since the 18th century by the Carthusian monks, from a recipe based on a 1605 manuscript. It brings together 130 plants, and only two monks know the full recipe. It is one of the most legendary liqueurs in the world.

Frequently asked questions about Chartreuse

What does VEP mean on a bottle of Chartreuse?

VEP stands for "Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé" (exceptionally prolonged ageing). These Chartreuses age much longer than the classic versions in large oak casks, in the distillery's cellars, before bottling.

How should I store a bottle of Chartreuse?

Store it upright, away from light and temperature changes. Chartreuse is known to keep evolving slowly in the bottle, which explains collectors' interest in older editions.

Do you deliver Chartreuse outside France?

Yes, we ship it from France to Europe and many other countries, with parcel tracking. In mainland France, delivery is free for orders from €300.
