Deutz Blanc de Blancs 2016 Jéroboam is the vintage Blanc de Blancs of Maison Deutz in a 3-litre jeroboam: 100% Grand and Premier Cru Chardonnay, in a rare format.
This cuvée comes from the great Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs, such as Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize and Chouilly, complemented by Premiers Crus. The vintage ages for several years in the house's chalk cellars before disgorgement, for an expression that is both pure and complex. For this year's wine, tasters note a chalky, pure nose and a palate that is both creamy and taut. The jeroboam holds 3 litres, or four bottles. The share of air under the cork is small relative to the volume of wine: the champagne ages slowly and keeps its freshness for a long time.

Serving and storage
Allow plenty of time to chill it: a night in the fridge or at least an hour in a large bucket of water and ice, to reach 9 to 10 °C. Serving is ideally done by two people. Store it lying down, in a cool place away from light.
Food pairing
Roasted turbot with beurre blanc, sea bass in a salt crust, oysters and langoustines for a large table, or an aged Comté.
