Pommard Les Petits Noizons 2024, Château de Meursault comes from a named vineyard plot set high on the commune of Pommard, on the north west side. This Pommard plays on freshness and fruit rather than power, with tannins that are already amiable.
Les Petits Noizons lies in the upper part of Pommard, above the village, where the slope steepens and the soils become leaner and stonier. The altitude brings a few degrees of freshness to the harvest and the drainage limits the vigour of the vine. What comes out is a Pommard less massive than those of the heart of the appellation, on livelier red fruit and a finer tannic frame. It is a good way into a village known for its structure.
What the critics say about this cuvée

Château de Meursault is one of the finest estates of the Côte de Beaune. The Moulin Foulot fief, from which it comes, dates back to the 11th century. Bought in 2012 by Olivier Halley, the estate has since expanded its vineyard: 65 hectares spread over about a hundred plots, farmed under certified organic agriculture, which give five Grands Crus, twenty Premiers Crus and a dozen village and regional appellations. The estate sells entirely direct, 100 % of its production comes from its own vines.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the Clos de La Platière village?
Les Petits Noizons comes from the top of the appellation: it is fresher, more fruity, finer in its tannins. The Clos de La Platière, lower on the slope, shows broader and more structured. Two faces of Pommard.
Should it be kept?
Not necessarily. It drinks well from three years and gains above all in complexity between five and eight years. Beyond ten years, the fruit gives way to notes of undergrowth and spice.
How is the bottle shipped?
