Meursault Les Dressoles 2023, Château de Meursault is a village level Meursault from the Les Dressoles named vineyard plot, in the southern part of the commune, towards Puligny. A Meursault of texture, suppler than the cuvées from the top of the hillside.
Les Dressoles lies south of Meursault, on clay and limestone soils deeper than those of the northern slope, in a sector that comes close to the boundary of Puligny-Montrachet. This water reserve gives supple Chardonnay wines, round in texture, where ripe fruit and hazelnut dominate. The richness characteristic of the village is there, with an acidity a little more melted than on the higher named vineyard plots. It is the most approachable of the three Meursault wines in the range, enjoyable from its earliest years.
What the critics say about this cuvée
The scores below cover the most recent vintages of this cuvée, all vintages combined. The 2023 vintage was given 16/20 in Bourgogne Aujourd'hui, and the 2022, 92/100 at VertdeVin.
Château de Meursault is one of the finest estates in the Côte de Beaune. The Moulin Foulot fief, from which it comes, dates back to the 11th century. Bought in 2012 by Olivier Halley, the estate has since expanded its vineyard: 65 hectares spread over around a hundred plots, farmed under certified organic agriculture, which give five Grands Crus, twenty Premiers Crus and a dozen village and regional appellations. The estate sells entirely direct, 100 % of its production comes from its own vines.

Frequently asked questions
When should this bottle be opened?
It drinks happily from two or three years on, because its acidity is already melted. It goes on evolving over about ten years, gaining notes of honey and dried fruit, but nothing obliges you to wait.
Are there any Grands Crus in Meursault?
No, none. Meursault does however have many premiers crus, among them Perrières, Genevrières and Charmes. It is a particularity of the commune, whose reputation rests on its crus and its named vineyard plots rather than on a Grand Cru.
How is the bottle shipped?
Delivery is free in France from 300 € of purchase. Each bottle is carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
