Ladoix Les Chaillots 2023, Château de Meursault comes from the commune of Ladoix-Serrigny, on the hinge between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. A straight, stony village Pinot Noir that gives a great deal of pleasure without waiting.
Ladoix is the northernmost appellation of the Côte de Beaune, at the foot of the hill of Corton, on the boundary with the Côte de Nuits. That hinge position can be read in the wines: more nerve and tension than the average for the sector, with a stricter red fruit. The named vineyard plot of Les Chaillots owes its name to the pebbles that cover its soils, over fairly lean limestone that drains quickly and gives wines that are precise rather than powerful.

The scores below cover the most recent vintages of the cuvée, all vintages taken together. The 2022 vintage was given 90/100 by Bourgogne Magazine and a gold medal at the Concours International de Lyon. The 2021 is rated 92/100 by James Suckling.
Château de Meursault is one of the finest estates in the Côte de Beaune. The fief of Moulin Foulot, from which it comes, dates back to the 11th century. Bought in 2012 by Olivier Halley, the estate has since expanded its vineyard: 65 hectares spread over about a hundred parcels, farmed under certified organic agriculture, producing five Grands Crus, twenty Premiers Crus and a dozen village and regional appellations. The estate sells entirely direct, and 100 % of its production comes from its own vines.

Frequently asked questions
Ladoix, Côte de Beaune or Côte de Nuits?
Ladoix-Serrigny is the first commune of the Côte de Beaune as you come down from Nuits-Saint-Georges. The wines nevertheless keep something of the nerve of the Côte de Nuits, and that is precisely what makes them interesting.
Is this a wine to open young?
Yes, that is what it is for. It is already very enjoyable between two and four years, on the fruit, and holds without trouble up to eight or ten years in the good vintages. A quarter of an hour in a decanter is enough to open it.
How is the bottle shipped?
Delivery is free within France on orders from 300 €. Every bottle is packed with care and sent by tracked shipping.
