Drappier Carte d'Or Demi-Sec is the demi-sec version of the Carte d'Or, the signature cuvée of Maison Drappier, a Pinot Noir-led champagne born on the slopes of Urville, in the Côte des Bar.

Here you find the base of the Carte d'Or, a blend in which Pinot Noir largely dominates, completed by Chardonnay and a touch of Meunier. A more generous dosage gives it a gourmand roundness, while the liveliness of the Kimmeridgian terroir keeps it fresh and easy to drink. A bottle designed for the end of the meal, fruit desserts and anyone who likes a softer champagne.

Key facts

  • Origin: France, Champagne, Côte des Bar, Urville
  • Producer: Champagne Drappier
  • Grapes: Pinot Noir 80%, Chardonnay 15%, Meunier 5%
  • Dosage: Demi-Sec
  • Size: 75 cl

Tasting notes

  • Colour: Luminous gold, fine and persistent bubbles
  • Nose: Candied fruit, honey, brioche, peach and quince
  • Palate: Round and creamy, sweetness balanced by lovely freshness, long pastry-led finish

Serving and storage

Serve it well chilled, at around 6 to 8 °C, in a white wine glass or a tulip glass. It is a champagne to drink within two to three years of purchase to enjoy its fruit. Store the bottle lying down, in a cool place away from light.

Food pairing

A fruit tart, a charlotte, a strawberry cake, a tarte Tatin or brioche French toast. It also pairs very well with pan-fried foie gras, lightly spiced Asian cuisine or a mild blue cheese.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose between wine, champagne, spirits, liqueur or chartreuse?

It all depends on the occasion (and what you feel like!).

  • Wine: to go with a good meal.
  • Champagne: for aperitifs and celebrations.
  • Spirits: to sip slowly, for lovers of character.
  • Liqueurs and Chartreuse: as a digestif, neat or on ice.

Are your products exclusively of French origin?

No, our cellar is open to the world! Although we favour French gems, we also select treasures from elsewhere.

What is the difference between a liqueur and a chartreuse?

Chartreuse is a herbal liqueur made by Carthusian monks according to a secret recipe. It is a liqueur , but not all liqueurs are Chartreuse.

Which products do you select?

We select great houses and renowned estates: iconic cuvées, vintages and limited editions.

At what temperature should you serve your alcoholic beverages?

Red wines: 15 to 17 °C

Champagnes: 8 to 10 °C, and 10 to 12 °C for great vintages

Spirits: room temperature

Liqueurs and Chartreuse: chilled or on ice
