Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Sinards Red, Famille Perrin is the house's Châteauneuf-du-Pape, made like the wines of Château de Beaucastel and aged two years in foudres.
Les Sinards comes from plots of Miocene marine molasse covered by Alpine diluvium, the rolled pebbles that are the signature of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. One plot rests on Urgonian limestone. The pebbles store the heat of the day and give it back at night, which pushes the ripeness of the Grenache, while the clay subsoil holds water.
Famille Perrin is based at Château de Beaucastel, in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A pioneer of organic and then biodynamic growing, it belongs to Primum Familiae Vini, the circle of the world's leading wine families. Les Sinards is made by the same method as the wines of Château de Beaucastel, in the same cellar and by the same team.

Serving and cellaring
Serve it at 15 °C, in large glasses. The two years in foudre already give it roundness, but it still gains over five to ten years. Keep the bottle lying down, at a steady temperature, away from light and vibration.
Food pairings
The register is game, truffle and mushrooms: jugged hare, pigeon with ceps, truffled risotto. It also holds up with a seven hour shoulder of lamb.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Les Sinards made like Beaucastel?
The grapes arrive in the same cellar and pass through the same hands as those of Château de Beaucastel: picking separated by variety, sorting on arrival, a share of Syrah as whole bunches. The plots and the length of ageing differ, the method does not.
What are the rolled pebbles of Châteauneuf-du-Pape for?
These rounded stones, left by the Rhône and the Alpine glaciers, store heat during the day and give it back at night. They also limit evaporation from the soil. They are one of the elements that explain the power of the wines of the appellation.
How long should it be kept?
It is already enjoyable on opening, thanks to its two years in foudre. If you want the tertiary notes of leather and undergrowth, give it five to ten years in the cellar.
How is the bottle shipped?
Shipping within France is free on orders over 300 EUR. Every bottle is carefully packed and sent with tracked delivery.
