Rully Les Saint Jacques 2024, Domaine A. et P. de Villaine is the domaine's white Rully, from the named vineyard plot Les Saint-Jacques, in the commune of Rully, in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise.
Rully is the flagship appellation for the whites of the Côte Chalonnaise, on limestone and marl soils that recall those of the neighbouring Côte de Beaune. Here the domaine makes a precise village wine, vinified with the same restraint as its crus: gentle pressing, slow fermentation, ageing in old barrels and bottling without excessive handling.
The domaine was founded in 1971 at Bouzeron by Aubert and Pamela de Villaine. Aubert de Villaine co-managed the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti from 1974 to 2022, and applied here, in the Côte Chalonnaise, the same demanding standards as at Vosne-Romanée. The vineyard, of around twenty hectares, has been farmed under certified organic agriculture since the late 1990s, one of the first conversions in Burgundy. Pierre de Benoist, Aubert's nephew, is in charge of technical management.

Frequently asked questions
Is Rully more a white or a red?
Both, but the appellation has built its reputation on its whites, which today account for the majority of production.
What is the difference with a Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise?
