Rully 1er Cru Rabourcé 2022, Domaine A. et P. de Villaine is a white Rully Premier Cru from the named vineyard plot Rabourcé, known for giving whites that are broader and fleshier than the average of the appellation.
Rabourcé lies on clay and limestone soils that are deeper than those of the neighbouring crus, which translates into a fuller palate and a more enveloping texture. It is the most generous of the domaine's white premiers crus, without ever losing the straightness that is the signature of the house.
The domaine was founded in 1971 at Bouzeron by Aubert and Pamela de Villaine. Aubert de Villaine co-managed the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti from 1974 to 2022, and applied here, in the Côte Chalonnaise, the same demanding standards as at Vosne-Romanée. The vineyard, of around twenty hectares, has been farmed under certified organic agriculture since the late 1990s, one of the first conversions in Burgundy. Pierre de Benoist, Aubert's nephew, is in charge of technical management.
