Drappier Brut Nature is a 100% Pinot Noir champagne with zero dosage, the cuvée in which the nature of Urville expresses itself fully and freely.

A pioneer of non-dosed champagnes, Maison Drappier adds no liqueur here after disgorgement. The Pinot Noir, grown on the Kimmeridgian limestone of the Côte des Bar, is vinified by gravity with estate yeasts, without filtration and with very little sulphur, then aged thirty-six months in bottle. Its natural ripeness is enough to give a champagne that is fruity, straight and very pure.

Key facts

  • Origin: France, Champagne, Côte des Bar, Urville
  • Producer: Champagne Drappier
  • Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
  • Dosage: Brut Nature, 0 g/L
  • Ageing: 36 months in bottle, less than 30 mg/L of sulphur
  • Size: 75 cl

Tasting notes

  • Colour: Gold with vermilion glints
  • Nose: Freshly pressed black grapes, red and white fruit, citrus
  • Palate: Full, peach flesh, bouquet of aromatic herbs, slightly spicy, fine and taut finish

Serving and storage

Serve it at around 7 °C, in a white wine glass. Enjoy it within three to four years for its liveliness. Store the bottle lying down, in a cool place away from light.

Food pairing

As an aperitif, with shellfish, oysters, sashimi, veal tartare or a fresh goat's cheese. Its purity makes it ideal with raw seafood.

Frequently asked questions

What does Brut Nature mean?

A Brut Nature champagne receives no added sugar at disgorgement: it contains less than 3 g/L of natural sugar. It expresses the grape and the terroir without artifice, with a very dry and very pure feel.

Why is Drappier a house apart?

Based in Urville since 1808, the Drappier family champions a terroir champagne, low in dosage and sulphur, made mainly from Côte des Bar Pinot Noir. It also preserves forgotten Champagne grape varieties and presents itself as the first carbon-neutral Champagne house.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose between wine, champagne, spirits, liqueur or chartreuse?

It all depends on the occasion (and what you feel like!).

  • Wine: to go with a good meal.
  • Champagne: for aperitifs and celebrations.
  • Spirits: to sip slowly, for lovers of character.
  • Liqueurs and Chartreuse: as a digestif, neat or on ice.

Are your products exclusively of French origin?

No, our cellar is open to the world! Although we favour French gems, we also select treasures from elsewhere.

What is the difference between a liqueur and a chartreuse?

Chartreuse is a herbal liqueur made by Carthusian monks according to a secret recipe. It is a liqueur , but not all liqueurs are Chartreuse.

Which products do you select?

We select great houses and renowned estates: iconic cuvées, vintages and limited editions.

At what temperature should you serve your alcoholic beverages?

Red wines: 15 to 17 °C

Champagnes: 8 to 10 °C, and 10 to 12 °C for great vintages

Spirits: room temperature

Liqueurs and Chartreuse: chilled or on ice
