Beaune Premier Cru Blanches Fleurs 2024, Château de Meursault is a white Beaune Premier Cru from the Blanches Fleurs named vineyard plot, in the north of the appellation, at the bottom of the slope. A Chardonnay broader and rounder than the crus at mid slope.
Blanches Fleurs lies in the northern part of the Beaune vineyard, towards Savigny, on clay and limestone soils deeper than those of the mid slope plots. This water reserve translates into ample Chardonnay wines, with an enveloping texture, where ripe fruit takes precedence over tension. The plot is classified Premier Cru and also produces red, but Chardonnay finds comfortable ground there. These are whites that give themselves up fairly quickly, without demanding ten years in the cellar, and that hold up very well through a meal.
What the critics say about this cuvée
The scores below cover the most recent vintages of this cuvée, all vintages combined. The 2023 vintage was given 91/100 in Bourgogne Aujourd'hui.
Château de Meursault is one of the finest estates in the Côte de Beaune. The Moulin Foulot fief, from which it comes, dates back to the 11th century. Bought in 2012 by Olivier Halley, the estate has since expanded its vineyard: 65 hectares spread over around a hundred plots, farmed under certified organic agriculture, which give five Grands Crus, twenty Premiers Crus and a dozen village and regional appellations. The estate sells entirely direct, 100 % of its production comes from its own vines.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Premier Cru in Bourgogne?
It is a delimited named vineyard plot, located on the best parcels of a commune, whose name appears on the label next to that of the village. It sits between the village appellation and the Grand Cru.
Blanches Fleurs or Tuvilains?
Blanches Fleurs, at the bottom of the slope on deeper soils, gives a wine that is more ample and rounder. Tuvilains, at mid slope on stony ground, plays on tension and minerality. The first for generosity, the second for precision.
