Beaune 2024, Château de Meursault is the estate's entry level red on the town's appellation, supple and direct. A Pinot Noir of the Côte de Beaune that is easy to understand, and that drinks without waiting years in the cellar.
The Beaune appellation covers a wide slope rising west of the town, on clay and limestone soils where the stone surfaces more or less depending on the altitude. The plots classified as village are often found at the bottom of the slope, where the soil is deeper and the grapes more generous. The resulting style is tender and fragrant, built on red fruit and fine tannins. It is one of the most amiable reds of the Côte de Beaune, ready to drink early.
Château de Meursault is one of the finest estates of the Côte de Beaune. The Moulin Foulot fief, from which it comes, dates back to the 11th century. Bought in 2012 by Olivier Halley, the estate has since expanded its vineyard: 65 hectares spread over about a hundred plots, farmed under certified organic agriculture, which give five Grands Crus, twenty Premiers Crus and a dozen village and regional appellations. The estate sells entirely direct, 100 % of its production comes from its own vines.

Frequently asked questions
Is Beaune a red or a white appellation?
Mostly red. The appellation also produces whites, but Pinot Noir dominates the slope by far. The reds of Beaune are known for their suppleness and their accessibility, a notch less full bodied than those of Aloxe-Corton.
How long should it be kept?
This is a wine to drink rather young. Between two and five years, it offers its fruit generously. Good vintages hold for eight years, but cellaring is not how this wine is judged.
How is the bottle shipped?
Shipping is free in France on orders from 300 €. Each bottle is carefully packed and sent with tracked delivery.
