A legendary wine from the famous granite parcel of Les Bessards, "Le Pavillon" 2014 embodies the nobility of Hermitage: a pure, powerful and mineral Syrah signed by Michel Chapoutier.

Key facts

  • Origin: France, Northern Rhône, Hermitage
  • Producer: M. Chapoutier
  • Vintage: 2014
  • Grape: 100% Syrah
  • Parcel: Les Bessards (single-parcel selection)
  • Size: 75 cl
  • ABV: approx. 14%
  • Ageing: 20 to 22 months in oak, unfined and unfiltered

Tasting notes

Deep red with violet hints. Blackberry, violet, smoke, spice and pencil lead; a concentrated, mineral, structured palate with powerful yet silky tannins and a long, fresh, spicy finish.

Pairs with game in sauce, roast lamb, aged red meat or aged hard cheeses. Great ageing potential beyond 2040.

Serving Le Pavillon 2014

Serve at 16 to 18 °C after one to two hours in a decanter. Store the bottle lying down, in a cool, dark place.

Frequently asked questions

Why "Ermitage" and not "Hermitage"?

Both spellings refer to the same appellation. Chapoutier uses the older spelling "Ermitage" for its single-parcel cuvées.

What is a single-parcel selection?

A wine from a single plot, here Les Bessards, to express the signature of its granite terroir as closely as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose between wine, champagne, spirits, liqueur or chartreuse?

It all depends on the occasion (and what you feel like!).

  • Wine: to go with a good meal.
  • Champagne: for aperitifs and celebrations.
  • Spirits: to sip slowly, for lovers of character.
  • Liqueurs and Chartreuse: as a digestif, neat or on ice.

Are your products exclusively of French origin?

No, our cellar is open to the world! Although we favour French gems, we also select treasures from elsewhere.

What is the difference between a liqueur and a chartreuse?

Chartreuse is a herbal liqueur made by Carthusian monks according to a secret recipe. It is a liqueur , but not all liqueurs are Chartreuse.

Which products do you select?

We select great houses and renowned estates: iconic cuvées, vintages and limited editions.

At what temperature should you serve your alcoholic beverages?

Red wines: 15 to 17 °C

Champagnes: 8 to 10 °C, and 10 to 12 °C for great vintages

Spirits: room temperature

Liqueurs and Chartreuse: chilled or on ice

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email containing a tracking link. You can also visit the "Order Tracking" page to monitor the status of your order in real time.
