Collection: Château Margaux

Château Margaux, first growth

Classified as a first growth in 1855, Château Margaux is the only first growth to bear the name of its appellation. Owned by the Mentzelopoulos family since 1977, it makes a cabernet sauvignon-led grand vin renowned for its perfume and elegance, as well as a second wine, Pavillon Rouge.

Frequently asked questions about Château Margaux

Is Château Margaux available on the website?

Does Château Margaux make a white wine?

Yes, the estate makes Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux, a white wine from sauvignon blanc, sold under the Bordeaux appellation. It complements the red grand vin and the second wine, Pavillon Rouge.

How should an age-worthy Margaux be served?

Serve it between 16 and 18 °C, after decanting if the vintage is young. Before opening, keep the bottle lying down, somewhere cool and away from light.
