Château Latour, Pauillac first growth

A first growth since 1855, Château Latour takes its name from a 14th-century fortified tower. Owned by François Pinault since 1993, it makes a powerful, deep Pauillac, among the longest-lived wines of the Médoc. Since 2012, the château no longer sells its wines en primeur.

Frequently asked questions about Château Latour

Can I find Château Latour at Le Caveau des Pépites?

Château Latour is one of the estates our cellar follows, but no bottle is available online at the moment. For a great wine for ageing, browse our grands crus, our Bordeaux wines and our limited editions.

What is the style of Château Latour?

The grand vin is based on a large majority of cabernet sauvignon, mostly from l'Enclos, the historic vineyard surrounding the château. The estate also makes a second wine, Les Forts de Latour.

How should a great wine like Château Latour be stored?

Lying down, in a cool cellar at around 12 °C, dark and free of vibration. This kind of Pauillac often needs many years of ageing; when opening, decanting helps it express itself.
