Ardbeg, peated Islay single malts

Founded in 1815 on the south coast of Islay, Ardbeg makes one of the most heavily peated single malts in Scotland. Its style combines smoke, iodine and a surprising fruity sweetness.

Frequently asked questions about Ardbeg

Is Ardbeg a peated whisky?

Yes, Ardbeg is one of the most heavily peated single malts on Islay. The peat smoke comes with notes of iodine, citrus and sometimes chocolate. The distillery has belonged to the Glenmorangie group since 1997.

How should I taste an Ardbeg?

Serve it at room temperature, in a tulip glass. Taste it neat first, then with a few drops of water: the peat softens and fruitier notes emerge. Store the bottle upright.

What is the Ardbeg Committee?

The Ardbeg Committee is the distillery's enthusiasts' club, created in 2000. Each year it offers special releases, often sought after by collectors, such as Hypernova.
